This is a Chinese style pickling crock, with an airlock system. It is made out of porcelain and food safe glaze, to ensure that it is durable and safe to use.
I will no longer be making the size of the crocks photographed, they are too hard on my body and the failure rate is too high for me to justify it. They are roughly 15 inches tall and 16 inches across and are capable of holding 14 heads of cabbage. The prices below reflect the time and effort that it would take to create a slightly smaller version. I am offering three different options for decoration...
The first is as pictured and is the full floral.
The second is the half floral, or a different design, which means the flowers would only come down halfway on the body of the crock. The lid will stay the same, unless otherwise specified by the customer.
The third option is a smooth body with no florals.
Please keep in mind that I do not mix my own glazes, and I am limited to what I can buy.
Once you purchase a crock I will email you to finalize the design details. The timeline is dependent on when my next shop update will be. As of right now, that will be by Black Friday. Keep in mind that I am a small batch ceramics artist. I am the only one making this work, and it takes a while for me to fill up a kiln. I will be running multiple kilns between now and then, so it is possible you could receive your order before then, but it will be the end of November at the latest.
Additional shipping fees may be required if the original amount does not cover it. I do not foresee this being an issue, but it is something to be aware of.
